- Claim: What is the author’s main argument?
- Reasons: What reasons does the author provide to support the claim?
- Evidence: What evidence does the author use to back up each reason?
- Begin to evaluate the effectiveness of the argument’s structure. Does the evidence strongly support the claim? Is the reasoning logical?
