Section outline

    • The student reads three short personal profiles and a dialogue about Marco, Anya, and Liam. Then, he answers comprehension questions, identifies key personal information, and practices introducing himself and others in a similar style.

    • The student reads a telephone role-play situation between Dwight (a clinic receptionist) and David (a patient who needs to book an appointment). Dr. Jones is not available, so Dwight must take a message. Then, the student practices asking for and giving personal information (name, phone number, date of birth, appointment reason and availability), completes a telephone message form, and performs a similar role-play with a partner.

    • The student reads a text about the hidden mental side of five sports (football, tennis, running, basketball, and gymnastics). Then, he identifies what happens inside an athlete's mind and explains the "invisible game" in his own words.

    • The student will read a short story about a birthday party. Then, the student will answer questions to show they understand what they have read.

    • In this reading activity, you will read a short, funny story titled "The Dog That Played Fetch With Itself." The story describes something unexpected that happened to someone on their way to the shop. After reading, you will answer six comprehension questions to check your understanding of the story's events, characters, and details.
